Travel Vaccinations

From the 1st of April 2022 the way that travel health and travel vaccinations are managed has changed. GP practices will no longer be able to provide any travel vaccinations and these are now managed directly by the Health Board. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are delivering travel advice and vaccinations via services found via this website which should be accessed directly by any patient requiring travel advice, medication or vaccinations:   NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Travel advice, Vaccinations and Medication

The Scottish Government has also created this website for people to get travel advice and information from:Fit For Travel NHS Scotland

General Vaccinations - inc adults, children, COVID, FLU and travel

There have recently been significant changes to how all vaccinations are to be delivered in Scotland  (including general vaccinations, childhood immunisations, COVID, FLU and travel vaccines) and as part of these changes GPs will no longer be able to provide any vaccinations to Patients.  There may be significant concerns that patients have about these changes however it is hoped that having a centralised service will help to provide a streamlined vaccination service and also help to reduce pressure on GP practices which are under a lot of strain at the current time.  When vaccines such as Flu or COVID boosters are required then the Health Board will contact patients with details as to how to obtain those vaccines and Childhood vaccines will still be arranged via letters to Parents.

RCGP Scotland Practice Team of the Year Award 2017/18

We are delighted to announce that our practice has been awarded the Royal College of General Practitioners Scotland 'Practice Team of the Year' award for 2017/18. This award has been made for our involvement in the Govan SHIP Project which helps to improve the health and social care of our patients. The Govan SHIP Project is also being undertaken by the Blue Practice Govan, The Green Practice Govan and Dr Mair and Partners Govan. We are are very proud and honoured that our work has been recognised in this way by the RCGP.

As a training practice we will normally have postgraduate trainee doctors who are in their first few years (ST1) or final year (ST3) of training. These Doctors are closely supervised and form a valuable part of our medical team. Currently in the practice we have Dr Helene Mamet (ST3) and Dr Ross Innes (ST1). Dr Kyle McLellan has been helping us with regular Locum shifts after completing his Training earlier this year.

Our other attached trainees are:

Dr Kassie McLaren (ST2 - currently in hospital placement)

Dr Hannah MacLeod (ST3 - currently on maternity leave)

Dr Josephine Campbell (ST3 - currently on maternity leave)
