There have recently been significant changes to how all vaccinations are to be delivered in Scotland (including general vaccinations, childhood immunisations, COVID, FLU and travel vaccines) and as part of these changes GPs will no longer be able to provide any vaccinations to Patients.
There may be significant concerns that patients have about these changes however it is hoped that having a centralised service will help to provide a streamlined vaccination service and also help to reduce pressure on GP practices which are under a lot of strain at the current time.
When vaccines such as Flu or COVID boosters are required then the Health Board will contact patients with details as to how to obtain those vaccines and Childhood vaccines will still be arranged via letters to Parents.
